How would you feel?

When I graduated from college, just 2 weeks right after graduation I landed a job in a pawnshop as an accounting clerk. I was trained for a month in a main branch then was transferred to another branch located in uptown Cebu. The locals used to call it but now it’s just an ordinary street name. But if you were originally born in Cebu, you will know where uptown is. If you don’t know where it is, the street name called Fuente Osmena. It started from the rotunda going to reclamation area. The concentration is more with Robinson area and the nearby the shopping stores. Changes started when the big mall opened up. I remembered SM, followed by Gaisano country mall then Ayala. The malls died the busy traffic at uptown but still it’s still a good location for peaceful shopping.

Anyway back to my story, it is all about how I worked not being fired. I just witnessed recently how an employee was fired and it was an unlikely sight. I felt terrible. I questioned myself if it could happen to me. But indeed, I had one incident here in the US. My first job assignment was an accounting clerk/admin assistant. I was happy to get the job. When I started working few hours I started, I got the vibe it wasn’t meant to be. The manager asked me if I had an experience working as customer service and I told them no but only here in the US. I got my experience in the PI. I saw an eyebrow raised and it soured my stay there. I called the agency and told them some alibi. When I went home, I got a call from an agency and I was told that I was not fit to the job. It was a failure in my part. But it wasn’t my fault. The manager who supposed to teach me didn’t orient me to what I should suppose to be doing. How can you manage to do your job when you were just handed a manual. What will it do to you when you don’t know anything about their system? That pissed me off. I got really upset because it never really happened to me being treated sarcastically. I got my share of luck to that company when I happen to see their posting for job vacancies several times. Probably it took them to find a replacement the very same position that I supposed to be doing. I got a smile on that. I don’t know now if they were able to find somebody who can stand their approach. That company’s method of orientation sucked.

Office Challenge

I didn't know how are things going in the office not until I got an email from my boss last Friday. He told me about a new change and it will give me more $$ if I am ready. I wasn't aware what's happen but I had assumed I know the cause of the problem. It started when he was very cranky that rattled me and my other counterpart. From that day, I had thought to sign in my letter and let them know how long will I stay. Instead, I was thinking that I still got no other job to replace. Better I will let myself work until I can find a new one. It wasn't the work that is a problem. It is the people's unfair treatment.

I just told by my boss when I stayed after work waiting for my hubby. I set in my cube and he told me about the offer that I will replace the position that will going to be vacant soon. I didn't say yes but it will be a good thing for me. Not that I want to stay in the company but because of the fact I want more experience and task. I will be so happy about it and just wish my new counterpart will be a good employee too. I will have a meeting tomorrow with the director and my manager. I will cross my finger on that. I hope for the best.

Quite A Day

I worked today and its quite too busy. As usual I still don't get so much help from my co-worker. And one of them is making me nuts. I don't want to reveal who she is but I just don't like the way she treated me. For the past month I thought we already patched our differences, but it seems now it's getting worst. The more the days are getting busier, she's changing a bit. I don't know what's up with her. Anyway, I don't care so much if I will resign. I will give her the medicine she deserves. She's getting on my nerves and I believe she felt the same way with me. I tried to be cordial but if she's tough I could get even with her.

I am just running some thoughts here for the last minute. I still have to do some packing and help my husband. I will be in the east coast for 13 days and we will depart tomorrow at 12pm. We'll visit relatives and attend a wedding and do some city tour with 3 different states. I wish for the best of the trip and enjoy all the days staying there. Follow me in my journey!

What the day had been

This morning the day was gloomy. It looks like it's going to rain but it did not. A little bit cooler. All my co-workers were wearing sweaters where I just wore a casual tops. I felt a little bit cold but I didn't mind it. When the lunch time came, I went outside to have a 15minutes break just to relax inside my car and listen to music. The sky is getting better and it was a nice moment to find peace.

The clock strike at 4:30 I logged out, turned the phone lines off eventhough Liz wasn't there yet. She was attending a buyer but I can't wait for her to get back. I just went to check with her and told her that I turned off all the lines while she's negotiating with the auto buyer. I hurriedly drove to Savemart. A 10 minutes drive from work. The streets not busy so it's a good drive. The routes I take always not so busy. I feel relieve on that. Anyway, I parked the car when I was in the location. A guy came up to me while I was heading to the door and asked for money. I ignored him walking too fast and he said "have a nice day" disgusted. Why would anyone ask for money when they're very healthy they are able to work. It could just mean one thing they're lazy and look for easy money. I hate those people. We immigrants are even striving hard to a different country to survive and earn a living than having this local who just ask for money. No way, I would care to give a dime.

It was few minutes from all the things that I need to buy I came home ate some left over pizza for snacks. I need to iron my clothes, wash the dishes, cook some dinner and clean up the apartment. A lot of things to do and I should or must do. Until then , see you next time.

Woud you Feel the Same?

I have been working like a dog today and had a relief when the phone shut off. My boss and my co-worker came early today with some breakfast treat. I was hoping I could get much help but the result was it gave me much headache of the two. I was thankful they fed me but to pass all the work and I could be stressed on their mistake, it's a hassle. It made me irritate too when they would just talk not minding about me struggling to keep up the busy lines, joggling the phone with pick up schedules. Honestly I got frustrated with how they behaved at work.

It's not only one time this is happening but everytime they talked, it just like they wont stop. They would careless on other people working so hard just to keep up with the work load. It's very irritating but I just keep it to myself. His the boss and my co-worker is like a bestpal to him. No way I could voice out my opinion on how mistreated I was. Their personality is cool, I can be happy with that. With work ethic, I don't very much like them. Well, for now it's just for me to hold on until I can get started to work on my own.

Day in the Office

It's just okay today and I feel better working. Yesterday I had a terrible headache due to monthly sickness. How I wish I could get rid of not feeling it every month but I guess there's no way for me not to get away with it. Though my illness is not as worst like many other female that I know of. They will have this painful stomachache. I don't have that, maybe once in a blue moon but I tell you when I have it I wish I could just die because it hurts a lot.

Anyway, there's nothing much to tell about what's going on in the office. Except that there's this lady who called yesterday about her scheduled pick up that was supposed to be picked but not done. I don't know if I did set her up for that schedule but there was no trace of the transaction or it was Liz or Kristal's fault. We ended up have a talk with the boss and another advice again. But I really don't mind it anymore. There will be no room for being emotional at the company. I need to be strong to stay.

I guess that's all about it for the day. Will see you again in another time.

Some thoughts

Today was quite relaxing for me in the office. I am not pressured to work hard since my boss is out of the office. I can work freely and comfortably. Since we have that talk some few weeks ago, I no longer trust his personality. It's better now to be cautious and be attentive to all the people around me since I don't want no trouble or I don't want them to second guess about me working there. I would still hold on to stay to the company and who knows I might be keeping it for now. I wanted to try thinking about something to do better someday and I am working on it still. Once I get it running, that could be the time to evaluate whether to have it part time or just let it go.

What A Day

I am trying to get busy today at work. I had asked both superiors if they want me to do something. The director was just the one who gave me task. Just a very easy thing to do but requires a touch. I did the filing of the papers from different folders and named it. The labeling machine had ran out of tape so I used to do it manually by printing in excel the name and cut the names by a scissor attached a tape to the folder. It’s still a pretty neat work. I had start doing that yesterday. I was glad I am doing that to spare my boring time with not much work to do. I wanted to browse the internet, just do my own thing. But then I don’t want my boss to think very negatively of me and so I find ways to make by day busy with something else. It’s better to ask the boss than to pretend not to care.

I thought I could resign today and got a teary feeling after what happened last Friday. But it’s a good thing to have a job and the people got the thought of keeping you. I hope I could handle another task that my boss wants me to do one of these days. I will cross my finger to that.
