Earthquake in my hometown Cebu..

Oh my.. I read so many postings and pictures of the aftermath of the quakes in Bohol and Cebu. It's frightening to see how it happened. I spoke with my brother and everything is fine back home. I am thankful.

Missing in Action

Oh yes! I am missing in action here. Well, it is hard to find relevant topic for this blog. I have been running my other blog a little bit here and there but it seems this one always left me out with no writing. So sorry!

I have been doing just home and work and little bit of fun so there's not much to talk about nature. I wish I could travel again or drive elsewhere to get this blog rolling but apparently I can't write anything about. But as soon as I have something I will update this soon..For all of you who stick around and read some of my topics in this blog, thank you for dropping by.

Atmospheric Pressure

It’s not likely that the Bay area would experience storms for days. I am not sure if this already happen before but what the weather is telling me at this point is that, it’s an ugly day of heavy down pour of rain.

My desk at work can visibly see how it is outside. Leaves from the trees are all over the place. It’s wet, damp and windy. I am so sorry for some of my co-employees who are doing their job on the field. I know some of them might be wishing if they can work inside the office. Poor guys, nature doesn’t get in their favor. Sometimes you can’t predict what nature unfolds. 

Several days of gloomy weather, is not ideal for outdoor activities. Not to mention I have to get my Christmas tree this weekend. It will spoil the fun of picking a good one. I hope the wind will blow fast and take all the ugliness in them. I want to see Mr. Sunshine again.

Timubo Cave, Camotes Island Cebu

I took a tour from Mangodlong Paradise. The tour includes Timubo Cave. I can’t pinpoint from the map where the cave is located but maybe I can find some guide over the web and I will post it later.

It was only a brief moment when I saw the cave. I was with my brother and dad. We are a group of 5 and only three of us were brave enough to conquer what nature unfold. I went down with heart palpitating. It’s a deep cave. I don’t remember how far did we reach but we didn’t get to the bottom.

I thought I could reach the end of it and take good pictures of the entire cave. I failed and it sucked. The reason was the water level. All of us didn’t wear beach clothes and we don’t want to get wet. So we only got the portion. But I don’t have regrets at all.

Coming down was hard and getting up. I thought I might panic there because I feel a strange in my breathing. I destructed my senses and didn’t pay close attention to it. I did that by taking pictures when we were about to get to the surface. 

At least I conquer my fears of dark and feeling suffocated. Now I have a little adventure marked on my list.

The Heat is here

The sun was favorably shining yesterday and today. I could feel the heat but not as bad that you could perspire in an instant. I haven't been out enjoying the warm weather. I stayed most of the time under the shed where aircon is running a blast. Thankful to the cheap electricity that I could run the aircon whole day not minding on the next month's high bill. But I sparingly used it when needed to save energy and money.

I hope in a few coming months I could spend a time in a beach, relax my confusing mind and physically just rest. That I am looking forward to enjoy.

Living Here

Living here has taught me a lot of things but one of the biggest is that you have to trust your intuition. I think it’s crucial that you not stay working in a job you hate for more than a year because your job is so much of your life, you know? You spend so much time there! So I decided to start my own business and boy has it been a whirlwind. I never would have imagined so many things would go into this but you know, from the Bronx T1 to the small business labor laws, I’m learning as I go. I think it’s crucial to keep your mind working well into adulthood so you don’t go stale – there’s nothing worse than getting less smart just because you don’t use your brain. I saw it happen to my own dad after he retired and now that I’m getting older I want to make sure it doesn’t happen to me, it’s just the saddest thing in the world to see from afar!

Spring is here

Even if Spring started with Storm here in the bay area. The weather is been very good. It's not too drastically hot nor too windy for the change. Right now, I looked outside seeing a bright sunshine. Perfect to enjoy the day. But I am working so just looking and imagining things outside could have been more fun. I hope for a better days to come. Storm go away, please give us more sunshine!

My cousin and her husband became missionaries several years ago. They have mostly been missionaries within the United States, but last year they moved to Zimbabwe. I cannot even believe that they live in Africa now. It is so weird that they are so far away. They are only supposed to be there for about two years. About three months after they moved there, my cousin found out that she was pregnant. I was really excited for her, but it was sort of bittersweet because I would not be able be around when the baby arrived. Luckily, I have exede satellite internet service and can keep up with her through Facebook. She posted pictures throughout her pregnancy, and now that the baby is here she posts new pictures every day. I would really like to be able to hold that sweet baby. Since, I can’t however, I am glad to at least have the pictures to look at. I do not know what we would do without the internet. I think they are really happy right now, but I can’t wait for them to come home.

Earthquake in Cebu

Out of concern and check my family back home, I called them last night. My family's were all fine and no casualties whatsoever. My mom told me that there were few cracks in our house due to the trembling which they saw were a little longer than expected. She told me as well that my brother's house got more cracks from the quake. I wonder what happened to the foundation to that house. Probably because it was elevated and maybe the support was not really good. That's too bad for the house. But what concern us the most was that no one got hurt and they were all fine.

The tsunami alert was too overwhelming that causes panic attack to many. It was scary for them. Philvocs should advice or announced proper news for the people on how to handle the disaster. It was crazy in the Island. Although my mom said that there was a little movement of the ocean nearby but it wasn't that bad that the people should be concerned about. All in all, Philvocs should know better than that and should provide accurate news for the public. That's all I can say.

Spring is almost here

It still feels cold and chilly outside especially in the morning but I believe the weather will going to change soon. It will be nice to have that long period of sunshine and short evening. Regardless of the weather, lucky for the resident of the bay area the winter/fall season was great.

I don't know what could my plans for spring. Since I am a little tight now with schedules for school, work and home. It's a good thing though it could occupy my time. I just need a little time to improve some personal skills and hopefully one day I could attain and achieve my desire goal.

Typhoon Hit so Bad in Philippines

It's hard to read the news for the past few days. The Southern part of the Philippines was hit by a typhoon with a strong down pour of rain. Casualties are counting and the last time I read it was sometime 900 dead and lots of missing people. The area that hit most was near the river where the water rises up in breaking record. It was unexpected to hit that bad. I hope relief and donation will be enough to those who are in need.

Foggy Morning

For 2 days driving to work, fogs were all over the street. It isn't bad because the road strips were still visible. I have heard from my Director that tomorrow will be more dense and the gust winds are range from 35mph. I wonder how cold it could be. Grrrh! It looks like going to be a coldest day maybe.

Beautiful Landscape in Maui

Here is the collection of photos I took. I had the marvelous time in Maui and definitely I would like to go back. I hope it will be soon or sometime next year. Who knows when it will be but it will be less than a year. That's how I love staying there.

Sunset In Maui

How cool is this shot? I took this while I was in South Kihie in Maui. The resort was in Maui Schooner. I almost missed this one beautiful sunset. I was there for 6 days but this was the only day I got to shoot. I am thankful I had one to remember. I love sunset. The part of South Kihie doesn't really get that sunset touch down. It's covered with the mountain backdrop. But if you look at that golden orange sky, it was just nice to see.




This was the touchdown but the hills covered that. It was still nice to see that moment.

Cat - Pet Photography

Daphne is my very first pet that I took glamorously. Isn't she adorable? I took this shot while I was inside Kasie's room setting and measuring lights. By the way Kasie is the daughter of my friend Louella who lives in Nebraska. This photo was taken sometime in August of this year while I was visiting them.

I was doing a pictorial for Kasie that day. But Daphne was the trial shot. Behind this photo was the pink curtain served as a background. She was on the floor below the window frame. I felt she wanted to take me a shot of her so I rushed to take this shot. We got an eye connection. It was one of a kind shot and rare. I would say she did good.

Liking the fall

Though it's a little strange that the weather is still fabulous. I am enjoying it. This time it could have been gloomy, rainy and cold. But for the past weeks the weather has been really nice. They said it's going to rain tomorrow. Now I might going to start wearing fleece and sweatshirts.

Well see how the cold will sink in for the coming days. I am not really a winter person. Glad that the weather in CA is not harsh so I am quite lucky. I hope it's not going to be freezing cold.

Since this blog has been neglected, my bad! I will search on my archive on the place I've been and see if it fits to this blog. I will post new one soon! Thanks for dropping by.

Being a wedding photographer is actually a LOT more work than you might think. Not only do I have to give up all my weekends to attend weddings and photograph them I have to spend hours and hours retouching and printing and making into albums. It’s time consuming but I love every minute of it – that’s why I’m doing what I’m doing! I decided to start photographing full time a few years back when my wife got sickand I realized life’s too short not to do what you love. So here I am, home office with OC3 and a giant darkroom in the garage and you know, I’ve never been happier. My wife made a full recovery and I feel so much better now about not having to work 50 hour weeks at a job I hate. I may work now more than I did before but it’s easier work that I love doing. I don’t think you can ask for a job that gives you more than that, you know?

Where's fall?

I attended a children's party yesterday. It was nice to be out during weekends. For straight 2 days I was out with friends. Saturday was a great day. Perfect weather actually. It could have been nice to go the beach. But no plans of driving far so I met up with my virtual friend. I had a good time with that meeting.

Yesterday's party was great too because I have seen people that I used to hang out. I don't have so much time to spare to see them anymore so it was really great to see them. The weather was nice too. I thought it's going to be chilly. But it wasn't it still feels like summer. Where's fall? I don't know. I have read the dj on the radio speaking that we could still have a good weather for the week. Might as well enjoy while it lasts.

Summer is still in the Bay area

Fall did start last week on Friday the 23rd but the weather still heating up. We hit like 90 last week and for this week we are on average at 85. A warm temperature for the week. It's good that we have this kind of weather. But I just don't like when sudden change occurs from hot to cold and vice versa. For now, it still feels like summer here. I am not even changing my wardrobe to fall season. The weather delayed me for a little bit. Let's see what it will be on the coming days.

Calgary rentals

There are places in my wish lists that I have not traveled yet. Canada is one of them. I hope I could go to one day. If I have the chance, I will search Calgary rentals and check what I could find in terms of rent and judge my budget out of that. The website published their prices and looking at the condition of what they are listing, I am stunned to see that prices for rent are cheaper to compare it from where I lived.

Canada is booming and the economy is doing pretty well. Geographically, it’s near the US territory and I have few friends who lived there. They maybe scattered all over the country but it could be good to see them while visiting. One area in the country that I would to say more is Calgary in Alberta. I didn’t know they also produce oil in there. So much with my little knowing about the world, but places like that could be good to look for work. The oil producing city is becoming more and more progressive as the years gone by and with that being said, people will flock to go there to find work and hopefully living comfortably. It makes me get interested to know about the place and the people.
