When it comes to most things, I don't really bother with making them homemade, especially when it comes to food. But there are certain things and certain occasions that just call for things to be homemade instead of store bought or just heated up, like Thanksgiving. That and Christmas family dinner are the two times of the year that I break my habits and make stuff homemade.
One thing I always insist on making for Thanksgiving is my mom's old recipe for homemade green bean casserole. It was always my favorite growing up and when you make it with just canned soup the easy way it doesn't even hold a candle to my mom's.
